Doing What’s Right”

Title: “Doing What’s Right”

Characters:

  • Narrator

  • Tami – curious and thoughtful

  • Angie – kind and encouraging

  • Lela – funny but learning important lessons

Scene Opens

Narrator: One afternoon, three friends—Tami, Angie, and Lela—were talking together about something important that had happened at school.

Tami: Hey Angie, have you ever heard the words integrity and righteousness?

Angie: Yes! Those are important Christian traits.

Lela: Uh oh… those sound like really big church words.

Tami: I was thinking the same thing. What do they mean?

Understanding the Words

Angie: Well, integrity means being honest and doing the right thing—even when no one is watching.

Lela: Even when nobody can see you?

Angie: Exactly.

Tami: And what about righteousness?

Angie: Righteousness means living in a way that pleases God and choosing what is right instead of what is wrong.

Lela: Hmm… I think I had a moment like that yesterday.

The Situation

Tami: Really? What happened?

Lela: We had a test in class, and there was a question I didn’t know.

Angie: That happens sometimes.

Lela: But the student next to me had the answer written clearly on their paper… and I could see it!

Tami: Oh wow… that must have been tempting.

Lela: My brain said, “Look!” but my heart said, “Don’t do it!”

Making the Right Choice

Angie: So what did you decide?

Lela: I looked away and didn’t copy the answer.

Tami: That was the right choice!

Angie: That’s exactly what integrity looks like.

Lela: I didn’t get the answer right, but I felt good because I was honest.

Why It Matters

Narrator: The friends realized that choosing honesty is not always easy, but it is always the right thing to do.

Tami: When we choose honesty, people can trust us.

Angie: And we honor God with our actions.

Lela: Even when doing the right thing is harder than doing the wrong thing.

Conclusion

Narrator: Living with integrity and righteousness means choosing honesty and goodness every day.

Tami: Integrity means doing what’s right.

Angie: Righteousness means living in a way that pleases God.

Lela: Even when no one is watching!
