Houston Departure

We will be meeting at 8 am in terminal D (Volaris counter) at Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) on Friday, November 17th. There you will receive your shirt and lanyard. We want to stay together as a group as we do the check-in process and pass through security so please please be on time.

Items to bring

• Clothes: no sleeveless shirts or revealing or tight clothes. If wearing leggings have a shirt tied around the waist. No shorts for ladies. 

• Passport (bring a hardcopy with you and have a photo on your phone or email)

• Bible

• Sneakers, sandals

• Bedding: bed sheets, pillow, pillowcase, or sleeping bag

• Water Bottle

• Toiletries: soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, etc.

• Hat

• Sunglasses

• Snacks

• First Aid Kit (Include medicine for indigestion, diarrhea, pain, motion sickness, etc) Nonnarcotics medicine

• Mosquito Repellent

• Mosquito net (recommended)

• Flashlight

• Swimsuit (shorts and rash guard shirt)

• Towel

• Hand Sanitizer

• Sunscreen

• Camera

• Wet wipes

• Cash ($20 bills or less)

 

Items NOT to bring: 

• Drones

• Narcotics (if absolutely needed, get a small quantity and a certified letter from your doctor)

• Cotton

• nothing sharp.

• Send yourself an email with your passport.

• Always keep in your backpack one-day worth of clothes in case luggage is delayed.

Weather

El Salvador's dry season, or summer, is from November to April. The country's rainy season, winter, runs from May to October. During the rainy season, the coast and central parts of the country tend to experience afternoon storms in between pleasant weather.
