SHARK TANK 2022 INFORMATION
Welcome to ACS’s 2022 Master Guide Shark Tank Program!
What is the ACS Master Guide Shark Tank Program?
This year ACS will host a Shark Tank competition for local Master Guide Clubs, providing an opportunity for members to develop and pitch a Community Service Project idea to a panel of judges. The program is based on the popular Shark Tank television show, with the top presenters winning cash prizes donated by several sponsors.
Objectives for this program are:
• Promote working with and in the community.
• Help members develop their critical thinking skills.
• Help members develop their public speaking and presentation skills.
• Becoming the hands and feet of Jesus.
Who can participate?
The ACS Master Guide Shark Tank program is open to all Master Guide Clubs in the Texas Conference. Teams are made up of 3-5 Master Guide Club members. No Master Guide Club Staff is allowed to participate. Clubs may have multiple teams participate, so long as each team from the club has "as equal as possible" participants. So, a club could not field two teams, one of 5 members and one of 3 members, but could field two teams of 4. Teams may not add or change any members after submission. We request that any applications be taken care of before the deadline, so no excuses are made for late submissions. There are no fees or costs to participate, but the winning clubs will be expected to utilize the winning funds to implement their plan.
How can clubs participate?
We will be accepting preliminary ideas for the community projects at ACS@txsda.org until 11:59 pm. Thursday, Sept. 1st.
What are the deadlines and key dates?
Applications from individual Clubs must be completed by Thursday, Sept. 1st. Finalists from individual applications will be announced on Thursday, Sept 8th.
The Master Guide Shark Tank Finals will take place at Lake Whitney Ranch during the Master Guide Camporee between Sept. 30th - Oct. 2nd. Our panel of judges will announce the winners at closing ceremonies.
Where will the Finals event be held?
The Master Guide Shark Tank final event will be held at Lake Whitney Ranch during the Master Guide Camporee between Sept. 30th - Oct. 2nd.
What do the participants receive?
The top three pitches as selected by a panel of judges will win cash awards… $3000 for 1st place, $1,500 for 2nd place, and $750 for 3rd place. These awards are to be used for the implementation of the community project that was pitched by the club.
